The artwork represents the painter in the studio. In the background is a semicircular window overlooking the snow-covered Škofja Loka. The painting originates from the legacy of prof. Iva Modica, who was a good acquaintance of Birolla and a well-known collector of antiques and works of art in Slovenia. The painting is designed in the harmonious architectural tectonics of space, detailed figurals and depicted in a vibrant but coordinated color spectrum. Therefore, the work with its manners reveals in all respects a mature artist.
