Stane Kregar

Painting

Expert opinion on the painting (Janez Mesesnel, forensic art expert): The painting is well preserved. He represents an older man of a distinctly intellectual type, painted and bust-bound in polenface. He has a high forehead, slightly thinning hair is gray and short cut. His eyes are brown, and his facial features are underlined by another day old beard. He is wearing a brown jacket and a light shirt with an unbuttoned collar. His eyebrows are (still) dark. The background is flat, but colorful and characteristic of Kregar's accentuated, detailed, but tonally calm. In this case, it is an almost academically reliable, solid and typically Kregar's portrait (Janez Mesesnel, forensic art expert).
