Gaspari studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. He was also a co-founder of the Vesna Art Club. He worked as a restorer in Ljubljana for twenty years. In addition to painting, he was also involved in illustration, including caricature and the design of book equipment. His art encompasses clearly recognizable national symbols, drawing and is based on realism. He received the Prešeren Award for his work.
