Simon Lavrič is a Slovenian painter who primarily works with the depiction of animals in their natural environment. He studied at a high school for design and photography and then enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design. In 2012, he graduated in painting with Zmag Lenardič and then began independent artistic development.

He is primarily interested in images of animals that appear in postmodern art. He treated the topic as part of his diploma thesis and then developed it with his own unique artistic language. Such themes have appeared in the history of art since prehistoric times and represent the focus of Lavrič's interest. His images are so convincing that they have the effect of making the viewer look face to face with the depicted animal. The artist's works are hyper-realistic projections of the natural environment, which are artificial constructs. He is one of the few contemporary painters who works with traditional artistic techniques.
He uses oil paints and canvas. In his work, he never discovers new possibilities of the painting medium, and he also moves away from the symbolic meaning of animals. He also does not glorify the power of creatures in his depictions, but tries to present them as originally as possible, as in nature. In Simon Lavrič's works, there is a noticeable harmony and harmony between nature and creatures. This contributes to the atmospheric effect in the final impression, in which the animals from the artist's immediate surroundings are revealed. Instead of a classic sketchbook, he prefers to use a computer. With the help of digital photographs, he designs the desired composition, and then sets about painting on canvas.
Although the images are very realistic, his projections are not real reflections of nature, but a recreation of reality. He always paints only one subject in order to achieve the best possible connection between man and nature. He also introduces elements from his home environment into his paintings, with which he approaches reality as closely as possible, without excessively embellishing the images. He first presented his works at the exhibition Thinking Animals, which was organized in honor of the artist in 2013. He has achieved a reputation among art lovers and art critics alike. In addition to painting, he also teaches art design at the art school in Miklova hiša. He is a member of numerous art associations, such as KUD France Prešeren. He has participated in several group exhibitions, and has presented his work independently at the Miklova hiša gallery and the Vezenina creative center. Most of his works are kept in the Miklova hiša gallery.

Simon Lavrič je slovenski slikar, ki se prvenstveno ukvarja z upodabljanjem živali v naravnem okolju. Izobraževal se je na srednji šoli za oblikovanje in fotografijo nato pa se je vpisal še na Akademijo za likovno umetnost in oblikovanje. Leta 2012 je diplomiral slikarstvo pri Zmagu Lenardiču nato pa začel s samostojnim umetnostim razvojem.
Zanima se predvsem za podobe živali, ki se pojavijo v postmoderni umetnosti. Temo je obravnaval kot del diplomske naloge in jo je nato razvil s svojim edinstvenim likovnim jezikom. Takšna tematika se je v zgodovini umetnosti pojavila že od prazgodovine dalje in predstavlja fokus Lavričevega zanimanja. Njegove podobe so tako prepričljive, da učinkujejo, kot da gledalec zre iz oči v oči v upodobljeno žival. Umetnikova dela so hiper realistične projekcije naravnega okolja, ki so umetni konstrukti. Je eden redkih slikarjev sodobnega časa, ki se ukvarja s tradicionalno umetnostno tehniko.
Uporablja namreč oljne barve in platno. Pri delu nikoli ne odkriva novih zmožnosti slikarskega medija, odmakne pa se tudi od simbolnega pomena živali. Prav tako v upodobitvah ne poveličuje mogočnosti bitji ampak skuša te predstaviti čim bolj prvotno, kot v naravi. V likovnih delih Simona Lavriča je med naravo in bitjem opazna skladnost in harmonija. To v končnem vtisu pripomore k atmosferskemu učinku, v katerem se razodevajo živali iz bližnje okolice umetnika. Namesto klasične skicirke raje uporablja računalnik. S pomočjo digitalnih fotografij zasnuje želeno kompozicijo, nato pa se loti slikanja na platno.
Čeprav so podobe zelo realistične, njegove projekcije niso realni odsevi narave ampak poustvaritev realnosti. Vedno slika le en subjekt, da bi čim bolje dosegel povezavo med človekom in naravo. V slike vnaša tudi elemente iz domačega okolja, s katerim se čim bolje približa realnosti, brez da bi pretirano olepševal podobe. S svojimi deli se je prvič predstavil na razstavi Misliti živali, ki so jo umetniku na čast priredili leta 2013. Dosegel je ugled tako med ljubitelji umetnosti kot tudi likovnimi kritiki. Poleg slikanja se ukvarja tudi s poučevanjem likovnega snovanja v okviru umetnostne šole v Miklovi hiši. Je član številnih umetnostnih združenj npr. KUD France Prešeren. Sodeluje na več skupinskih razstavah, samostojno pa se je predstavil v galeriji Miklova hiša in kreativnem središču Vezenina. Največ njegovih del hranijo v Galeriji Miklova hiša.
