Ante Trstenjak, a Slovene painter and graphic artist, studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Graz and Vienna, began his painting studies in Zagreb and graduated in 1923 in Prague. He continued his professional development in Italy and Paris. He moved to Maribor in 1950, where he remained until his death. He painted in the post-impressionist style, mainly landscapes (Slovenske gorice, Paris, Dalmatia, Lusatia, Prague, Istria), Lusatian folklore motifs and still lifes. Trstenjak is one of the best Slovenian watercolorists in the period between the two world wars (summarized from Wikipedia).
