Loboda Peter, a Slovenian sculptor, studied at the Technical High School in Ljubljana, then studied at the Academy of Arts in Zagreb. He worked in Meštrović's studio in Zagreb, then at home in Domžale and Bled. Together with the sculptor Frančišek Smerdu, they created a four-meter monument to France Prešeren, which was unveiled in Kranj at the end of 1952. The sculptors also participated in the production of the statue of the Illegal in Ljubljana.
