(Sarajevo, 15.6.1944 - Velenje)
Enver Kaljanac, known as Eno, is a painter of Bosniak origin who lives and works in Velenje. He spent his childhood in Sarajevo, where he attended a design school. In 1965, he moved to Ljubljana. There he continued his education at the Academy of Fine Arts and graduated in 1970 under Prof. Mihelič. After completing his studies, he was one of the founding members of the Junij Group, which was formed by graduates of the Ljubljana Academy. It brought together very diverse artists who did not adhere to a common stylistic orientation or ideology. After 1974, the young artists achieved international renown.
The name of the group refers to the common month of birth of its members. In addition to Kaljanac, Stane Jagodič, Harald Draušbaher and Viktor Gojkovič also participated in it. They primarily strived for the democratization of art and international integration, which put them side by side with the previously established Grupa 69. They held their first exhibition in 1971 in Celje. The movement was very progressive and contributed to the artistic revival in Slovenia. It did not only reach art lovers but also appealed to the wider public. At the beginning of his career, he worked mainly in the field of restoration and conservation, and occasionally painted. His style was initially precise, as the artist painted from nature, but over time it softened. At that time, his works moved away from strict realism and became more artistic. He most often paints with oil paints and watercolors, and he also dabbles in photography as an amateur.
Enver Kaljanec's oeuvre includes a wide variety of motifs. He is best known for his depictions of idyllic images of the Slovenian landscape, floral still lifes and the horrors of the war in the Balkans. The artist's color scale is strongly conditioned by his personal attitude to the depicted motif and ranges from gently pale shades to vibrant and deep colours. Unlike other colleagues, the background is particularly important to him, which in some cases even dominates the central motif. Today, Kaljanac is an active member of the Society of Slovenian Fine Artists and Artists in Maribor. He frequently presents his works at exhibitions at home and abroad. During his studies in Ljubljana, he was awarded the Prešeren Student Award for his creativity. Since 2008, he has lived in Velenje and is dedicated to depicting idyllic locations in the Slovenian landscape, such as the salt pans, Bled, Bohinj and Ljubljana and its surroundings.

Poleg Kaljanca so v njej sodelovali še Stane Jagodič, Harald Draušbaher in Viktor Gojkovič. Prizadevali so si predvsem za demokratizacijo umetnosti in mednarodno povezovanje s čimer so se ob bok postavili prej ustanovljeni Grupi 69. Prvo razstavo so priredili leta 1971 v Celju. Gibanje Je bilo močno napredno in je pripomoglo k umetnostnemu preporodu v Sloveniji. Z njim niso dosegli le ljubiteljev umetnosti ampak so nagovorili širše množice.
