Janez Pirnat, a Slovenian sculptor, studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana with professors Frančišek Smerdu and Karel Putrih. He has participated in numerous exhibitions in Slovenia and Yugoslavia. As an excellent sculptor, he explored the problems of cubist conception of figure and figurativeness in general, which led him to the abstraction of the classical torso and on to intricate two- and multi-faceted, especially stone plastics. His statues at first glance act as unfinished or damaged pillars in which we distinguish the curves of bodies. All products have a recognizable, authorial expression. In addition to creating in stone, he also devoted himself to drawing and graphics (summarized from Wikipedia). For all additional information regarding the purchase and other services, you can contact us by phone or e-mail: info@portaalpina-gallery.com
