(Zminec pri Škofji Loki, 10.1.1910-Grosuplje 17.8.2001)
Pavel Bozovičar or Skalarje Pavel, as he was affectionately called in the vicinity of Škofja Loka, was a Slovenian painter and draftsman. He mostly depicted landscapes, especially around Škofja Loka and Poljanska dolina. His oeuvre also includes portraits, genre scenes and still lifes with flower bouquets, as well as interiors. Pavel's artistic talent came to the fore early in his teenage years. In his free time, he liked to redraw the works of Slovenian painters, e.g. Gaspari, which was noticed by Franja Tavčar, the wife of Ljubljana mayor Ivan, who supported him in his further development as a painter. Every year she invited him to the estate in Visoko and allowed him to create as much as possible and spend his holidays actively there. After finishing elementary school, he enrolled at the Technical School, where he received his first art education. He was taught there between 1937 and 1929 by well-known Slovenian painters and art teachers, e.g. Alojzij Repič, France Kralj and Gojmir Anton Kos.
They gave him a good foundation, which he later built on in Henrika Šantel's studio, where he stayed for only one year. In 1930, he decided to study painting in Prague for six years. After finishing his education, he moved to Ljubljana. There he mainly portrayed rich townspeople and produced a few other commissioned works. Bozovičar's artistic expression was greatly influenced by Gojmir Anton Kos, from whom he acquired basic knowledge of painting. This is reflected in the well-thought-out selection of color shades, which helped him to make his portrait subjects appear truly plastic and extremely convincing. He painted in a realistic manner, which has accompanied the artist since the very beginning of his artistic career. He was extremely familiar with human anatomy, which is visible especially in his figural compositions. In his mature years, Bozovičar moved to his brother's house in Škofja Loka, where he set up a painting studio. He also taught art classes at a local school for a while. During his life he did not exhibit much.
He often put his paintings on display in shop windows, where the general public could become familiar with them. His first independent art exhibition was organised in Škofja Loka in 1953, where they exhibited nudes from the 1930s, when the artist was busy in Prague. Throughout his creative career, he resisted the sale of artworks with all his might. He was extremely attached to them and kept raising their prices to drive away interested buyers.

Tam so ga med 1937 in 1929 poučevali znani slovenski slikarji in likovni pedagogi npr. Alojzij Repič, France Kralj in Gojmir Anton Kos.
