Avgusta Šantel Jr., a painter and graphic artist, went to school in Gorizia and then attended a teacher's college. She taught at the first Slovene school and at a private Slovene school in Gorizia, then in Vransko and Slovenska Bistrica and later in Pula, and later in the Steinklamm refugee camp and in a middle-class school in Maribor, but after retirement she moved to Ljubljana. The basics of drawing were provided to her by her mother, the painter Angela Šantel. Angela Jr. she later completed her painting skills in Vienna and Munich, as well as at the private painting school of Margareta Stall. She painted mainly in oil on canvas, pastel and watercolor, she also expressed herself in woodcut and linocut. Her motifs include mostly landscape motifs and floral still lifes, as well as a few portraits and figural compositions (summarized from Wikipedia).
