Tine (Valentin) Kos, a Slovenian sculptor, was educated in Moravče and at the School of Arts and Crafts in Ljubljana (sculpture department). After finishing school, he got a job as a draftsman for two years, working for the stonemason Toman, and then for the painter Ivan Pengov in Ljubljana. In 1913 he went to Vienna to study at the Academy of Arts. After returning, he created for five years in his hometown. He later opened a studio in Ljubljana. He was an exceptional figuralist and exhibited both at home and abroad.
