(Kamnik, 1883 - Kamnik, 1956)
Maks Koželj, the second son of the painter Matija Koželj, became interested in painting as a child. He attended an art and craft school in Ljubljana, and later studied at the Vienna Academy, but had to interrupt his studies in the 5th semester due to illness. In 1905 he went to Prague and Munich for training. After finishing his training, he settled permanently in Kamnik. As a painter, Koželj devoted himself mainly to landscape - motifs from Kamnik and the Kamnik-Savinja Alps are very common. In the last years of his painting career, he discovered a new technique of watercolor painting, namely painting with a rubber spatula (summarized from Wikipedia).-
