Nikolaj Omersa, a Slovenian painter and illustrator, graduated in 1937 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. During World War II, he was in the German camps of Dachau, Dora-Mittelbau, and Ravensbrück. After the war, he first taught at grammar schools in Ljubljana, then at the School of Arts and Crafts, and later was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. Omersa loved the landscape and landscape motifs, especially he liked to paint views of Ljubljana and Piran (summarized from Wikipedia).-
