(Stari trg near Lož, 1909 - Ljubljana, 1980)
Lojze Perko, a Slovenian painter, initially took up hairdressing, but gave up and enrolled at the Probuda art school. He studied at the academies in Zagreb and Sofia, which had to be interrupted due to his war studies. After the war, he continued his studies at the academy in Belgrade. He first settled in Kamnik and gained experience in the Lubarda studio in Cetinje. He then moved to Dolenja vas near Cerknica, where he arranged a painting workshop. That is why most of his paintings show landscape motifs from Notranjska. He painted mainly clean landscapes, but also landscapes in connection with man (cultivation of land, social habits and customs, etc.). In addition to oil painting on canvas, he also created with watercolors, drawings and illustrations (he also illustrated Levstik's Martin Krpan) (summarized from Wikipedia). For all additional information regarding the purchase and other services, you can contact us by phone or e-mail: info@portaalpina-gallery.com
