Marin Berovič, academic restorer and specialist conservator, received his doctorate from the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology in Ljubljana in 1986, and in 1984 he received his master's degree in restoration and conservation from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. Prof. dr. Marin Berovič is a full professor of biochemical engineering and biotechnology at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology and at the Biotechnical Faculty, and a full professor at the Department of Restoration of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design. He has had more than 50 solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad. He is engaged in graphics and photography, restoration of works of art and design (he also restored the collection of pastels by Božidar Jakac in Kostanjevica na Krki). He is a member of the Association of Slovenian Fine Artists and the New York Academy of Science. He brought the monumentality of pastels to the Slovenian art space and at the same time introduced a portrait figure in the landscape.
