Slovenian painter, whose family originates from Avč. He visited the Academy of Arts in Vienna and did not graduate. After World War I, he was called up as a reserve officer on the Russian front, where he was captured and sent into captivity. He returned to Trieste in 1919. He later taught drawing at a high school in Idrija, then lived in Vienna and traveled to several European and African cities. He has lived in Ljubljana and Maribor since 1934. He created mainly female portraits in the oil and pastel technique (summarized from Wikipedia).
